No catering menu on their web page, so I'm gonna say no.
This place a couple of years ago would have received a 5 star, however they have continued to go downhill. From the customer service, waiting on the phone for 15 minutes to place an order if they even pick up the phone, food being cold when picking up, the cleanliness of the entirety of the building. This is super disappointing. Food is decent, but nothing like it was. What’s going on Old Mexico!!?
This wasn't the worst Mexican food I've had but it definitely wasn't the best either. It has a small dining room but filled up decently for a Monday dinner rush. There's also a small bar if you want to drink. The guacamole was pretty fresh but I think they put oil in it and also some shredded cheese that didn't belong. We asked the waitress and she said it must have just fell in there but there was quite a bit. The food was acceptable to eat but not the tastiest. It was kind of on the greasy side. The waitstaff wasn't unpleasant really but they also weren't very friendly or enthusiastic to serve you either. The bathroom was literally like a furnace. It was so hot I could barely breathe in there. They overcharged us on our drinks but did correct it. I wouldn't go out of my way to return to this place but like I said I've had worse.
Food is good customer service horrible waited over hour taco Bell looking very good now
Service was helpful ( we have some food allergies) and she was on it. The server took great care of us and checked back in even though they were busy. I would definitely say that it's worth a visit. I'm totally impressed by the portion sizes and the value. 5 of us - all big eaters at for $45 not including tip. Some of us didn't even finish our meals. It was definitely worth it. It was busy and they seemed to struggle a bit with timing of the food. With that said, please go visit & enjoy your food. It was filling.
Delish. Small restuarant, great food.
Food is good. Reasonable prices.
This spot clearly knows how to please their clients. Regularly with a super friendly approach. The food is affordably priced, always delightful and clean.
Love the food and Margaritas are good! Fast and friendly service
Usually pretty good..got my order wrong today. Asked for a combo...exchange a burrito for a ground beef enchilada. Received a chunk beef enchilada. Told the waitress ..she told me to keep it and she'll bring a ground beef enchilada. She comes back and asked if she could look inside the enchilada to see what kinda meat I had. I guess the cook or whoever thought we were lying...sent her back too get the enchilada..waitress tried to take my whole plate. Hell..by this time I had eaten half my food except for the enchilada. I told her no..bring me a plate and I'll give you just the enchilada. Waitress said the person in the back was arguing back and forth with her. Didn't know why they were giving her such a hard time. She said she thinks the person was confusing my food with someone else's. Been going here for years..never had any issues till today.
We were greeted with Great chips and salsa. A large menue plus lunch specials. As you can see from the photo, the lunch specials are a good value!
Wow. What a great dinner. Friendly , professional and beautiful girls bringing you some fantastic authentic cuisine along with great drinks. I had the Southwest Quesadilla and the taste of freshness was definitely there. Oh, you have a huge appetite? Try the fried ice cream to make you feel like you are the El Presidente of Mexico. Two thumbs up!
Very polite Quick Service good food
This restaurant gives awesome service and delicious food. My favourite restaurant ever. The meals arrived quick and the rates were fair. Recommended.
I prefer carry out. I'm a bigger guy and it's tight in there when it's busy. Best hard shell tacos in Western Wayne county. Comparable to some Southwest Detroit restaurants. 12 tacos are gone as fast as I open the box at home.
Food is decent but the service is absolutely awful. Told our waitress I needed a to go order along with my own and had to go up to the counter to order it separately because she kept forgetting. Pretty sure they only had one cool too. They need to get it together. If I could give half a star I would
Never had a decent meal. I tried three times. Even the people were not impressed with the service or the meals. I lack the understanding of what people like about this place.
This has always been a neighborhood staple. Best, authentic food; excellent atmosphere for small meetings or dates. Always a favorite!
they have good food here and prices are reasonable. I especially like the enchiladas. they always bring you plenty of chips and salsa to start too. this is a smaller restaurant so during peak hours it can be tight but still worth the wait. good service here too. parking lot is also small so can be tight to park. this is a regular stop for me and the family.
Not authentic Mexican food. Bland, no flavor outside of salt and pepper. Our waitress was prompt, which I appreciated. The other younger lady ignored my party when we walked in, greeting is nice. The floor was very dirty. Service was fast. I won’t be returning, but if you don’t like real Mexican food try it out. Service good.
Love this place. Food is always great. Been coming here for years for an excellent meal at a reasonable price. ☺
Absolutely love this place. We get take out from here all the time and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend.
The food here is AMAZING. The enchiladas are my favorite. If you don't love onions, make sure you ask for them to be left off (they're pretty liberal with the onion). The biggest downside is the size of the building. It gets crowded very quickly and parking can be a real pain. Carry out is a good work around for peak times. It's worth the wait and the sharking to get in though. I couldn't even wait to take a picture before I dove into my chicken enchilada this time.
the level of food was just amazing. very delicious and amazing staff to serve you.
The wAitresses here always seem like they hate their jobs, and are stressed and never friendly!
A year later and its still just as delicious as it always has been.
This is always a tough one to review. The place hasn't changed since 1990. That is both good and bad. Good because the food is still great and the prices are reasonable. The bad is that you still only have two boring beers on tap and the dining room is very dated. The staff is friendly, and this place doesn't pretend to be anything more than a neighborhood joint with good Mexican food.
In a word...AMAZING! Have been enjoying the wonderful food here for years, and have been really missing dining here since the shutdown. On a whim I reached out on cinco de Mayo to enjoy some Mexican food, I was so happy to find Old Mexico open, and in fact they were so busy doing carry out, they had quite a wait! The carry-out food was equally as good as dining in, it was plated nicely and the specials were still valid even though the shutdown has been limiting.Thank you to Old Mexico for stepping up and being there for your fans during the shutdown.
I think the place will look better with white lighting.
I ordered the beef wet burito with the gravy on the side...loved it!
Ordered 30 tacos for the office. Food was prepared great and the salsa was fantastic. Hidden gem in Livonia.
FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. The person working was not very friendly. She was upset I walked in the building, however she walked up to at least 2 cars with her mask half off. I thanked her for my food and she just walked away. I hope her day gets better and she can stay safe and healthy.
Great food, went here on a recommendation and it surpassed my expectations.
Not bad food for a low key Mexican restaurant. Salsa was better than I expected it to be. Cheap prices. Good deals.
Wonderful staff great food I have dietary restrictions and they are always very helpful and willing to make the necessary changes
2nd time here. Awesome food great service. Love it. So does the whole family.
Great little hidden secret in Livonia! The people that work here are wonderful as is the food. I always get the number 2 lunch special with an extra taco and it is absolutely fantastic. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
This is one of the best, tastiest Mexican restaurants in Southeastern Michigan! My whole family and I have been eating there for over 40 years! Their beef taco's are the best taco's I have ever had anywhere else! They also pour an amazing premium margarita! The chicken burrito's and chimichanga's are out of this world! Do yourself a favor and give'em a try!
I have been going here for YEARS. Literally since before I was born when my mom was pregnant with me. Up until the last I’d say 3 years I LOVED this place. However, I feel strongly their customer service has decreased significantly and a lot of times the waitress is rude. Now during a pandemic, I have been ordering carry out. Tonight is the third time they have forgotten a dinner in my carry out during the covid crisis. And not to mention I’m a good tipper especially during times like now and I have always left a generous tip for them and I always have a rude person that doesn’t even say thank you that I’m dealing with or a forgotten dinner. I’m honestly tired of it. Will I keep ordering here? Yes because I love the food, but will I keep tipping carry out? Absolutely not anymore. I will be writing 0 from here on out. Change your service.
They’re quick and nice, but the food is terrible. I couldn’t even finish it. Bland and overcooked, didn’t seem fresh either. :(
No flavor in food. Qlty is good but lacks flavor nothing special. Tables were dirty
Small place with decent service. The food was very good and authentic, and we loved the three different salsas we tried. Can't go wrong with a combo to try a few different items. The chips were fresh and very crispy as well.
I have been coming here since I was a kid. I enjoy a handful of Mexican restaurants, but this one is special to me. The chili nachos and tamales are good, but my go to are the chunky beef burritos and corn tacos (with rice and beans, of course). I did not take any pictures of my food because I had carry out this time, which means I missed out on those great little chips and salsa they give you to load up on while you wait for your food. And maybe a nice margarita.
Ok I’m from Detroit lived in Redford when I didn’t discovered this gem, working across the street at the nursing home. I have to say this is my second favorite restaurant Of all time, my first was Stanley’s Chinease but it closed. Please don’t ever close!!! I have yet to find the flavors that your dishes have. So....delicious. I moved to Florida 15 years ago and Old Mexico is usually my first and last stop when I’m in town. I google them often to make sure they’re still open❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awesome tacos, best in the Detroit area!!
Good food, good prices, nice comfy restaurant.
Great food and drinks! Good salsa and fast service. It's a small place, but people are in and out quickly. They offer carry out as well.
They're just ok. Their quality and service has gone down quite a bit!
I love their food. I prefer to order carry out. Place is way too small and some of the servers are rude. But I’ve never eaten anything there I didn’t enjoy.
Great place been there for ever , great food and drinks,,♥️
